Just What LibreOffice Needs? Another Language? (Rust)

"Having a single application made up of 4 languages just sounds like hell." -Comment from yesterday

Rust is attracting a lot of anger right now because its effort to replace GNU doesn't go well and articles about this are starting to appear (not just social control media blurbs). That focuses on Ubuntu (and its future derivatives), but what about "Rust People" doing to LibreOffice what they did to Linux [1, 2]?

LibreOffice does not run network interfaces. LibreOffice does not do much over the Web/Net. So what's all this concern about memory safety [1, 2]? People opening malicious files? Where would such files come from? Untrusted E-mails from random addresses? █
