The Free Software Foundation (FSF) Turns 40 in 5 Days
Cross-posted from Tux Machines
2 days ago GNU turned 42 [1, 2] and 5 days from now it'll be the FSF's 40th anniversary.
The FSF's Web site is very slow at the moment (persistent (D)DoS for many months already), but it is still responsive and still raises money.
"Twelve reasons to come to FSF40" says: "Even if you can't join us for FSF40 live in Boston or online (we really hope you can!), you can help us reach more free software supporters who can. By sharing the word about FSF40, you'll help us honor four decades of progress in software freedom."
We should be talking about software freedom, not "Open Source". Because software freedom is what actually matters in practice. █
