Canonical and Ubuntu: Working for Microsoft, Promoting Proprietary Surveillance (Dis)Services

Published yesterday: Valve's SteamOS, Microsoft Canonical's Ubuntu, and Other Platforms That Only Leverage Free Software (But Won't Protect It)

Ubuntu's blog right now:

Ubuntu started as a "new Debian" with a 'human touch'.

Canonical started with a rich and overambitious Debian Developer. He wanted to become richer.

Within a decade the above person found his Sugar Daddy: GAFAM, especially the M.

Maybe it's time to say goodbye to Canonical and Ubuntu. Without them, there would still be many decent distros out there, not ones controlled by Microsoft [1, 2, 3]. █
