IBM has already silently admitted mass layoffs in 2026
This month IBM and Microsoft have layoffs. Like we said several times (including last night), the media isn't covering those layoffs. Even when IBM lays off about 1,000 people in one fell swoop the media somehow "misses" the news. Why? Because IBM didn't issue some formal statement or a press release?
In Microsoft's case, not only have we spotted mass layoffs every month this year; some senior managers 'leave' (or 'retire' early) while the media turns a blind eye.
The US needs to revisit and fix the WARN Act. Companies large enough can circumvent and ignore it; they learned how to shrink or send jobs to low-cost (low salaries) countries without the media even mentioning that this is happening. █
