Digital Sovereignty Discussed in the United Kingdom (UK)
Earlier today: Anti-SLAPP Reform Formally Advanced in the United Kingdom (UK)
UK "MPs urged to vote for a Digital Sovereignty strategy," says the Open Rights Group. Digital Sovereignty requires Free software, but not only that. And "at least they mention open standards," an associate said about ORG, "albeit only once [and] neither file and data formats or protocols get mentioned..."
This week in Europe RMS gave a talk (in Germany). We have not found press coverage or any video of his talk, but the German politicians emphasise the need for Digital Sovereignty quite often, more so lately because the US (hence GAFAM) is seen as borderline enemy/hostile/traitor/backstabber.
Digital Sovereignty would be nice, but let's remember what contributes to it. █
