IBM: An Old Company That Hates Old People
2 years ago:
- IBM and Subsidiaries Sued for Ageism (Not Just for Racism)
- Racism, Ageism, and Ableism at IBM/Red Hat and Kyndryl
- Ageism at IBM Has a Long, Sad, Sordid History
Yesterday there was a discussion about how IBM treats older workers. We responded to that and since then several more comments showed up, showing how insiders or former insiders feel:

At IBM, some people are exempted from age discrimination (hi, Arvind). They get to mark 15% of their workforce as "on the verge" (can be terminated at any point). They use this sense of work insecurity to cause people to work extra hard and still fail (whenever, inevitably, the stock craters).
It seems like the work culture at IBM became so toxic that only desperate people and sadists would work there. Remember that's coming to Red Hat workers in 2 months. █
