IBM Has Embraced and Rewarded Liars
"The IBM culture vanished," someone has posted this morning. "I remember when we had team events, feedback sessions, and actual human connection. Now it's somehow all turned into silence and spreadsheets. That says a lot about how much the whole place has changed over the decades. From a great place to work to a lousy one."
"Yeah," someone has replied, "now we are forced to go to the office 3 days a week! Just a quick survey, are you going to the office 3 days a week?" There's some response.
This other thread speaks of what managers IBM hires, keeps, and sacks:
There is also a stereotype associated with the "genius" who runs IBM. "I've worked with Executives like him," someone said, "geography wise. There is definitely a gene missing around getting feedback that they do not want to hear."
This seems to be a sentiment that's widely shared as many call him pompous, arrogant, and dishonest (like selling things that don't exist and won't ever exist). █
