Evri (HermesUK) is Now Run by Bots and Hallucinating Scammers
What used to be known as "HermesUK" (now "Evri") is a fanatical "shitshow", a "dumpster fire", an utter disaster.
Years ago they virtually removed support and tried chatbots instead. It was comical, except when you actually needed to talk to someone and the utterly useless chatbot was wasting time.
Strike one.
Then, about a year ago, they began double-charging for deliveries because somehow they decided (with their notorious partner) that everyone was using a "Smart" "Phone" and wanted some QR code.
Strike two.
Now, to make matters worse... they make false (and automated) messages that a parcel weighing no more than 300 grams (the photo attached shows how light it really is) has somehow reached ~2 KG. Clearly no human actually checked to verify this!!!
Strike three.
If society and commerce are run by bots (which they now dub "agents" for hype's sake) efficiency won't be improved, injustice will spread, frustration will increase, and ultimately those who drank the Kool-Aid will go out of business.
Imagine "agents" like these taking over clinics and pharmacies. That's where lives are at stake/risk.
Evri isn't a matter of life of death. There are also alternatives to it.
Avoid Evri. It's like one of those rogue companies that in the name of "automation" make lots of mistakes. It's bad for efficiency, they're a poor company on an "acid trip".
The funniest thing is, to contact them via E-mail they provide (in their official site) an address that says "noreply", so in effect they tell people to send mail to an inbox nobody checks. They tell customers to speak to themselves. █
