Sumario: Criticismo de la esfera de patentes en los EE.UU., la que todavía deja espacio para las patentes de software por la resistencia de multinacionales corporativas al cambio/reforma, motivado por el maximálismo de la USPTO (haciéndo crecer sus números a pesar de su bajísima calidad) La USPTO es la principal barrera para la abolición de patentes de software. La Corte Suprema de los Estados Unidos ya emitió sentencia en la materia, pero la USPTO, que es impulsada por la codicia (simplemente vean lo que su antiguo Director Kappos esta haciéndo estos dias), rechaza obedecer las cortes hasta que se ve obligado a hacerlo, dañándo así la reputación de la USPTO y el valor de las patentes. “La innovación no necesita protección de patentes,” a un nuevo artículo de The Hindu (publicado hace unos momentos), habla específicamente acerca de las patentes de software en la India y dice (específicamente citando a los Estados Unidos como el problema): "La falta de límites claros en el software significa que los desarrolladores de software, incluso respetuosos de las leyes que no tienen la intención de violar la patente de otra no tienen medios claros de evitarlo. De acuerdoa otro nuevo artículo de hoy, Uber da otrarazón para boycotearloya que persigue patentes de software cuyo costo total (social) sería inmenso. No es claro como la patente de Uber afectaría la aplicación de Lyft’s de su propio “Prime Time” carácteristica dínamica,” escribió el autor,si lo hace. En años reciéntes muchos en Silicon Valley se han quejado que el proceso para obtener patentes es defectuoso.
