The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Ah. You appear to have misunderstood. This wasn't a knee-jerk decision
at all - Bruce was planning this over two months ago; and it's not just
a name-change for the sake of a name-change: it's a change in emphasis -
Bruce wants to change the way people think about our system.

Although I like the name Debian, and would like to keep it in some form,
the disadvantage of "Debian: The Linux Base System" is that it will get
shortened to Debian; don't get me wrong, I don't mind that, but it
doesn't get the effect Bruce was looking for - people will still think of
it as the old Debian, rather than the base of all good new distributions.

I think the Debian Association should keep its name - that avoids
domain/mailing-list naming changes/problems, but I'm not quite sure of
the answer to this one.
