The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

The major point I have against this is that there are several aspects of
dpkg that aren't in RPM, and vice versa. I haven't looked closely at RPM,
but at the moment, diversity is a Good Thing(tm).

I sincerely believe that having two different package managers available,
both under the GPL, is good for the Linux community. It basically becomes
a case of the two feeding off each other; it lends itself to a great deal
more innovation than if there are variations on the theme.

I'd really hate to see dpkg disappear, at least at this early stage of
the game.. especially given the amount of effort that has been put into
creating the Debian distribution, based around dpkg.
