The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Re: new maintainers

Ok, I made two fairly negative responses to this thread, so I feel
compeled to provide something positive.

Here is my proposal for "checking out" new maintainers:

	1. Each new maintainer will provide both an address and a phone
number where they can be reached. (both are verifiable)

	2. Each new maintainer will provide a cross check via either a
bank account, a landlord, or a University official, who can
verify the address and or telephone number of the maintainer.

	3. All packages, and specially those from new maintainers should
have an assigned "checker" who is competent to look over the
package and verify that it is "clean".

	4. Maintain an "introduction FAQ" that will point new maintainers
to all of the useful documentation on packaging and policy and
"require" that new maintainers "sign off" on having read them.

There are other technical means for maintaining the integrity of the
archive (like md5sums on upstream source) and we should look very closely
at general practices that can help insure the integrity of the archive.

Luck,

Dwarf
