The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Almost without exception, the young people I know around the
university have a very negative view of free software (unless they have
been exposed to linux) I try to explain sometimes why I didn't sell my
program, but 'gave it away'. It is extremely difficult for people to
understand what is going on here. The fact that they try to persuade me
to behave more reasonably shows how great the misunderstanding is.
Perhaps the religious metaphors reinforce the negative stereotypes
that the uninitiated have of us, but explaining why free software is a
great thing (including larger implications) is obviously a much needed
activity.
