The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Right. We *ARE* able to give it to whoever we want.

Correct.

Correct, it is a direct competitor of KDE, though.

We *CAN* do that, YES. We *SHOULDN'T* do that, though, WITHOUT KDE people
intervening to keep us away from giving the money to GNOME. This is called
"ethics".

But Bruce, now - please answer a couple of questions to me:

  - Is GNOME the last and only free software project, that we could
give money to? Aren't there any others?

  - Why is giving money to GNOME support GTK, and giving money to GTK
isn't? (IMHO, such statements are just NUTS).

  - Do you still have NO idea whatsoever, why giving money to GNOME
would upset KDE people? (If you haven't, then it is a good thing
that you said you don't want to run for project leader again).
Let's hope that at least Ian Jackson and whoever else stepped forward
do have at least a slight idea, as to why this might be upsetting to
    the KDE guys.

If this money would come from a "pure Debian" source, I'd say - give it to
every free software project you want. But since this isn't the case, I'd
at least consult a basic dictionary of "Rules Of Friendly Conduct" to find
out where you shouldn't give the money to.
