some bash users just seems to be based on shoving as many builtins in as possible for "speed" which -- whatever -- but many people i think will just use perl/python/ruby/whatever instead

im not sure what to call it -- "exposing" internal details or not -- but if we take say commands that merely are "wrappers" around system call or some libc function (whether standard or not) ...that opens up, easy to call from any language

another difference between C and bash: the former is aot-compiled (ahead-of-time of execution), bash is a jit-compiled/interpreted (just in time) type language

if... gcc can be convinced; not sure yet. gcc itself must be compiled, and why cxx support was required if cxx itself was removed from gcc.

not sure. my initial thought was, if cxx support was removed from gcc itself then gcc could bootstrap/cross-compile itself without cxx/g++

last time i tried i failed, could have been either a build-system quirk, or gcc itself requires g++ regardless of wether a g++ frontend will be available later
