Czech Republic: Windows Down From 98% to 43%, GNU/Linux Rises to Over 3%
A LOT of GNU/Linux development (e.g. at Red Hat and SUSE) happens in the Czech Republic, notably in Brno, so maybe it's not so shocking that there is a shift away from Windows and modest gains for GNU/Linux. Remember why the Czech Republic got prioritised in the first place (screenshot at the bottom of this article).
We are expecting Red Hat layoffs shortly, assuming the rumours are not baseless or there are no further delays (procrastinating the cuts). We think we know which parts and there are interesting comments about that, e.g. "I was hired [by Red Hat] on the 8th of October, the announcement came shortly after that. The group I was in for orientation in NC talked about nothing else, including how many of us would survive the takeover. Despite the insistence that nothing would change with IBM taking over, we see where this is going. It is now *all* about ROR."
Red Hat should really be promoting GNU/Linux and quit sucking up to Microsoft. IBM is run by misguided if not malicious actors at the higher level.
To understand why this is relevant see Red Hat Czech as explained below (in the "encyclopedia" every PR firm can vandalise for marketing purposes). █
