They Want to Take Humour Away
It's no secret that when it comes to RMS (Stallman), one needn't find good reasons - only excuses - for throwing insults at him, as we explained last night. Wordplay can be twisted as offense and people who 'joke' about stabbing and punching people try to tell us RMS is abominable for talking about "Emacs virgins" (as in people who did not use Emacs before).
Hurling insults is easy, especially when they target a man who soon turns 73.
Suppose that "Church of Emacs" (by RMS) was a real thing, though it clearly isn't. What would that even mean? That Stallman's "priesthood" overseas development of "holy" code? Being an Atheist - not even a closeted Atheist - it takes a special kind of dumbness to honestly believe RMS sees himself as a God.
I spoke to RMS many times, even in person. He's an ordinary person with plenty of things to say... just like all of us. He also likes satire. Who doesn't?
If society starts gravitating towards jokes being taboo and abuse/violence/online trolling being "jokes" (they're not), we're worse off and more like North Korea. █
