IBM 2026 "Organizational Change/s" Means Layoffs Resume Soon, Some Claim "Forever Layoffs."
The usual monkey business, IBM trying not to follow or fail to comply with transparency laws
2 days ago: Red Hat and IBM Layoffs, Staff Kept Quiet About it, WARN Act Skirted/WARN Notices Avoided
There is this interesting new thread, allegedly manifested or created by an IBM insider who said: "I received an invite from my manager. 2026 Organizational Changes. Is IBM doing another reduction in force in January?"
As someone put it: "It takes a 15-minute phone call to outsource an expensive job from North America to a low cost country like India" (sounds racist, but sometimes reality seems so).
Someone then said: "They're not going to call it that. They're going to do this in small chunks to avoid having tom comply with the WARN act. People are calling it "forever layoffs.""
About narrative control: "IBM does not do mass firings with alot of people on the call due to liability concerns. If the Manager called the entire team into a 15 mins meeting, it probably means the Manager is out and is trying to control the narrative."
There's a chance that some of the comments will be censored soon, so we've captured a screenshot:
We're also seeing people at IBM who announce in Microsoft LinkedIn that they got sacked (but they use the usual language to 'dance around' NDAs [1, 2]).

There are lots more who leave and don't write it in public or not in Microsoft LinkedIn. When we say "leave" we typically assume or mean "got pushed out". It's about "narrative control". █
