IBM is a Cancer That Attaches Itself to Everything
We've only just noticed that a former IBM employee at LWN covered the Fedora elections where almost all those elected were IBM employees. To quote: "The Fedora Project has announced the results of the Fedora 43 election cycle. Five seats were open on the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee (FESCo), and the winners are Kevin Fenzi, Zbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek, Timothée Ravier, Dave Cantrell, and Máirín Duffy."
He managed not to mention: 1) his own conflict of interest (IBM); 2) all but one of the above being IBM staff.
Visualised:
This gives IBM far too much decision-making power, not only at the Council. They'll integrate Wayland, systemd, slop etc.
All the things that IBM and GAFAM want. They will then spread the same to other distros, including Debian (their people enter the committees there).
They will even initiate pogroms against developers and people that IBM doesn't like and wants removed. Failing that, they will start frivolous lawsuits to harass unpaid volunteers who dare open their mouths.
IBM is collapsing, and to make matters worse, it's causing CentOS and Fedora to collapse while taking RHEL proprietary.
IBM is in a "forever layoffs" loop, as is Red Hat.

Further on IBM's "Employee Reviews":
Red Hat should have remained an independent company, but Jim AllowHurst sold it, then quit to join Microsoft causes. █
