IBM Kills Red Hat in the Darkness

Yesterday: Red Hat Quietly Going Extinct After Bluewashing in 2026

Start of 2026: Workers Fly Away From IBM's Red Hat (This Year a Lot of Red Hat Staff is "IBM")

13 hours ago:

I was working 120 hour weeks to close IBM’s $30B+ acquisition of Red Hat, and on-cycle PE recruiting had just kicked off.

Nearly dying to kill Red Hat. Technically he can sleep ~7 hours each night and still work 120 hours per week.

We continue seeing people who change their employer from "Red Hat" to "IBM". This means that IBM can sack them using IBMian (Big Blue-ish) standards and then pretend there are no "Red Hat layoffs" (per se).

Yesterday we also saw AlmaLinux (RHEL clone) people working to make KDE not really work without systemd (IBM+Microsoft), starting with the login management components. This is worrying. They want another AIX and they're denying the BSDs access to critical desktop components.

What IBM does to Red Hat is malicious. IBM wants a proprietary monopoly; buying Red Hat was buying "Crown Jewels" to win "The Crown". It won't work. It'll just destroy Red Hat.
