Worse yet, the mainstream media spreads lies about it right now:

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna discusses the company's completion of its $11 billion acquisition of Confluent. Krishna also says AI is a tailwind for the company and hasn't resulted in a net decrease in workers: This is a lie, this is misinformation. Smug smile with a 'skull' of past deaths (Red Hat)

So it "hasn't resulted in a net decrease in workers"?

Really, so those people don't exist?

Confluent: 8 years ago, I joined a little company called Confluent.

Sad news yesterday in the streaming and data ecosystem with large layoffs at Confluent and Snowflake. My heat goes out to those affected, who lose their livelihood by no fault of their own.

That the media helps IBM's CEO lie is a lot worse than not covering the layoffs.
