y'all, we just managed to catch the tail end of this years hyacinth festival and it was so pretty! i never imagined... a whole forest, hills and knolls and little valleys all covered in bluebells. the dappled light coming through the beech spires and everywhere bluebells, bluebells, bluebells, carpets and carpets of them, as far as the eye can see. like some magical fairy tale forest. and little beetles. and also fields of wild garlic. the olfactory effect was a bit subpar but visually just as stunning as the bluebells. how many times can i say bluebells? it just needed some twinkling sparkles to look like a 90s internet graphic (throwback to my previous post about witchy websites).

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King: The Rewatch
It’s been nearly 23 years since I last wrote about this film on this site, and in the meantime surely everything that can be said about it has been said, and yet here we are, saying some more.

Lilo & Stitch, Tia Carrere, and vintage Mac warez
Tonight's film was the 2025 remake of Lilo & Stitch. I enjoyed it more than the original, which I never watched when it was new because at the time I was more into LILO, the GRUB precursor.

daily nvim #2
One last issue though, my terminal emulator eats the CTRL-V command and just pastes whatever is in my OS clipboard. Luckily, a lot of people have had this issue, and you can use the backup CTRL-Q instead.

A Simple gcurl in Bash
A simple Bash script to request Gemini protocol URLs with a little URL sanitizing. Doesn’t follow redirects, doesn’t show an error if one occurs for select options.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
