GNU/Linux Grows at the Expense of Windows
Yesterday we saw GNU/Linux measured at 7.1% and today at 7.3%. It does not look like a mere error when one looks at pertinent nations or contributors to these gains. 3 years ago we were happy to see GNU/Linux touching 3% and more so we saw that in India/Asia, now it's the same in America and Europe.
Judging by online interest in GNU/Linux (it grew, it measurably increased), the terrain is getting harder for the "Old Guard". For 2-3 weeks already the news all around the world (in many different languages) seemed to have abundant coverage regarding Microsoft layoffs. This was 6 hours ago by Tim Paradis:

Based on statCounter, the GNU/Linux gains are mostly at the expense of Microsoft Windows and contrary to what the media says, the "forever layoffs" at Microsoft aren't about XBox, they're about many units including XBox. This was yesterday:

The same will happen to "Copilot" and many other loss leaders.
Like we showed yesterday, Microsoft is trying to frame any sort of analysis of it as sexist and racist, but the facts speak for themselves. Today and yesterday we see almost 100 articles (in English) about Microsoft layoffs; more and more studios and teams speak out about it as they're impacted. Their workers break the silence.
There is clearly a sustainability problem. Once Windows falls below some level of adoption it'll no longer be sustainable. Right now there is some new Windows vapourware with a "codename"; they say it's about slop and they insist that it will be somehow revolutionary, without even explaining why or how.
People who want to get work done already left Windows. █
