Top secret: Cults inquiry submission concealed from public

Earlier in 2026, I provided details for people to make submissions to the Victorian state parliament inquiry into Cults and Organized Fringe Groups (COFG).
The committee has decided that my submission had to be classified as Confidential, the civilian equivalent of top secret in the military. In other words, you, the public, are prohibited from reading it. Unless, of course, the people of Clacton-on-Sea vote for me and I table cult evidence in the British Parliament.
Thought exercise: is Reform UK a cult and if we want to rise above that type of politics, do we need a cult expert in parliament?

The committee had some public hearings earlier this year where cult victims came to tell their stories.
In the world of open source software, we have the case of the Ubuntu misfits engaging in parasitic behaviour against Debianism volunteers. Mark Shuttleworth, the founder of Ubuntu, told us he chose the name "Ubuntu" because it means "sharing".
In practice, it has come to mean doing chores, or working, without getting paid. Various suicide victims told us that. Frans Pop resigned for the first time in 2008 and then made a comeback, telling us:
The fact that I want to be a DD again does not mean that I'm ready to go back to the level of involvement/activity I had before my resignation.
In other words, he still hadn't completely realized he was in the grip of a cult. That is the very nature of a cult. If people knew it was a cult, they wouldn't do it.
This is why cult-like groups spend so much money on legal action to stop people using the word " cult". Here is the money spent by the Debianists to stop people suggesting they are a cult:
They don't want people to read about the Debian suicide cluster, the Debian pregnancy cluster and the incest with the Debian registered sex offender from Flordia. They don't want me to continue publishing this photo of the men in identical tartans / kilts:
In fact, it is not only Mark Shuttleworth who chose to use allusions of sharing to conceal the real nature of what was going on. ABC News has a report about Maria Esguerra's testimony. Maria was part of a cult called The Family International, which is not related to The Manson Family (in my previous blog).
Ms Esguerra said within her former church, sex was called "sharing" — posing a risk that if a child reported to police that someone had shared with them, authorities might not know they were reporting an assault.
It is disturbing to see The Family International and Mark Shuttleworth both chose the "sharing" theme to cover their real intentions for victims.
When the Debian suicide cluster first started to come out in 2022, Mark Shuttleworth removed himself from direct contact with the unwashed masses of Debianism. Was that a coincidence or did his legal advisors realize that he had to keep senior management at arm's length from the exploitation?
Frans Pop announced his second resignation on the night before Debian Day. Just as police failed to realize that "sharing" was really abuse, Debianists failed to recognize that the resignation wasn't a real resignation, it was a suicide note. Ubuntu is not sharing, it has turned Debianism into work without pay.

After the community learnt the truth about the suicide Mark Shuttleworth himself weighed into the discussion with the comment:
None of us should judge Frans' choices: there are many valid reasons to choose one's end.
The next death we know about was that of Adrian von Bidder. He died on our wedding day in 2011. I've published a detailed history of his life and death here.
