We Need More Transparency
Our heads of state are very much aware of and concerned about SLAPPs and censorship
Greater Manchester election is ahead of us (yes, my wife and I will of course vote) and the BBC has this new article this morning (Daniel Pocock is mentioned there, further at the bottom). The article by Professor Andrew Russell was published or updated 20 minutes ago. "Voters across Greater Manchester will head to the polls on Thursday to elect a new mayor for the city region," it says.
As shown in the image on the side, Manchester grew a lot in recent years, having already improved a lot in past decades (those of us who saw it in the 1990s can see a very sharp contrast). In many ways it has become like a "little London".
Further down where it says "Daniel Pocock (Independent)" it speaks of "Clacton by-election candidates". Pocock is living outside the UK, but he might soon come to visit (maybe we'll meet him in person; he used to live and work in Manchester). Some of his battles overlap ours because many of the same groups/people who hound him also try to censor us. The reasons are similar.
We strive for a political atmosphere that fosters open debates of problems, including suicides. Hiding issues simply means those issues will never be solved because they cannot be solved without an honest, open debate. █
