The Founder of Black Duck Still Works for Microsoft

He came from Microsoft and still works for it

Doug Levin and Microsoft Here's just a small sample; there's lots more like that. About a quarter of all his tweets are about Microsoft, always positive, always congratulatory. He says (in his Twitter profile) he still does "communications, marketing, and policy consultant, working primarily in the technology and public affairs arenas." (I.e. lobbying and marketing; his profile choice of giant octopus assaulting a harmless mammal gives additional room for thought; his firm still pays the Linux Foundation, based near him, to infiltrate it and manipulate the agenda, e.g. anti-GPL bias)

Summary: Black Duck's founder, Doug Levin from Microsoft, isn't doing a terrific job hiding his real loyalties and 'masters'

IT is no secret that Black Duck is no friend of Free software. It's a foe of it. It has always been the case; see for example "Microsoft-connected Black Duck Software Created by Microsoft Marketing Man as an Anti-GPL Operation, Admits the Management" (among many other articles indexed in our wiki page).

Here's who founded Black Duck:

Doug Levin

"It's not exactly news that Microsoft does the FUD and various other attacks using proxies; internal documents from Microsoft reveal that it's a very deliberate strategy."As one can see, based on his tweets, even after 'leaving' Black Duck he's still boosting Microsoft constantly and Microsoft pays him for it. We just thought this was noteworthy.

It's not exactly news that Microsoft does the FUD and various other attacks using proxies; internal documents from Microsoft reveal that it's a very deliberate strategy. It's a conscious choice. We very recently mentioned Nat and Miguel (Ximian, Novell, Xamarin, CodePlex, GitHub).

Quit thinking Microsoft has changed and stop believing the goals are nowadays different; only the strategy has changed slightly (to attack Free software more effectively and viciously while pretending it's about "love" or "care" or "support").
