Estimate: About 1,000 Microsoft Employees Laid Off (Azure Included, Again) for Independence Day and It's Not Over
WE have been trying to find a tally or estimates of what's happening this week at Microsoft. We saw several reports (despite the holidays), but the closest we got to a total is this new thread, "What the heck is going on with Microsoft?"
To quote: "Another 1,000 people were affected this week, including in the Azure cloud unit. What happened to this place? A while ago this was one of the safest companies to work for. I think that by now people are starting to avoid it due to non-stop layoffs. Things have changed so much in such a short time."
The comment says "its all about bottom line" and since many publications are busy with fireworks and marshmallow we might not hear much about it. We heard there are more and even bigger waves coming, so many people might forget or never hear about this one.
It seems like a low blow for Microsoft to sack so many people during a national holiday. █
