Every "social control media" [sic] platform will never be a substitute for your own site or blog. Never.

Your first social control media account; Your 'last ever' account; Naive you; Should have adopted your own platform; Venture capitalist pops it; now you tell me?

You will lose all your friends/subscribers/followers when the platform shuts down, profoundly changes, goes offline, or censors you (the ownership and objectives will change over time, totally outside your control).

So why even start at all?
