Reminder: A Few Days Before Julian Assange Was Kidnapped the Staff Explained Blackmail Using Personal Files Stored in Microsoft Windows
They still haven't resolved the issue (no longer a mystery) of illegal spying by the CIA, via Spain, on all of Julian Assange's guests including his lawyers
Days before the arrest: WikiLeaks says Julian Assange is being spied on in Ecuadorean embassy
I watched the entire thing at the time (it was done at short notice, was much-anticipated, about an hour long and rather disturbing - especially the depth of the spying and the severity of the blackmail). Here is just a short clip: WikiLeaks spying exposed
This clip does not show the lots and lots of Windows and back doors. Why would any sane journalists be allowed Windows anywhere in the radius of other journalists?
Only a few days later Assange got kidnapped and nobody spoke about that press meeting again. This became "old news".
Sadly, I'm unable to find the full, raw, original, unedited press conference. That was more than half a decade back.
This is not OK. It shows that, regardless of Julian Assange being let go at the end, the US Government does not respect the legal process and moreover violates laws against reporters, lawyers, embassy staff etc. It typically uses proxies (even in other countries) to achieve this.
This is a photo the staff released hours ago:
