ROOPHLOC 1: Pocket Dimension
I am sitting in a tiny park, a little pocket dimension. I always forget this park. I walked past a large park, and a small park to get here. Both were busy, full of people occupying the tables where I would sit down and write. This one is about the size of two house plots. It has a small playground, two benches, a table, and a trashcan. It splits the two crossroads in half, the east west road simply ending. The north south road ending in a tiny grassy roundabout on the north side, a large tree growing out of the center of it. The south side merely ends, same way the east and west sides do.

Here after two years
It wonderful to find this place again. I am tired of doom-scrolling and sharing reels!
Although, I do play my part and participate in my parasocial activities now and then.
I've been buying tons of notebooks in the hopes that i'll be able to write more often
I even bought a counterfeit Mont Blanc pen to further guilt myself.

blood, sweat, boxes, and bastards
i cut my thumb removed tape from a box. I did so to insert the barcode for the phone I was returning. I returned it via ACE Hardware (w/ UPS kiosk) down the street from me. Little drops of blood marked the end of the masking tape going onto the newly sealed package. But it scanned ok, and it has been returned.

The Source-of-Truth Problem
As I've thought more about these quandaries, I began to notice that all of them have something in common. All of them relate to a fundamental problem involving some standard of correctness. Some object or set of objects needs to be considered unquestioningly correct, be it a timeline file, a wiki, a blockchain or a commit history. But how can one trust that some document or file is correct?
I began to think about the problem in other respects. It seems to show up in many areas, from political news to scientific discoveries to AI. The more I played with it in my head, the more it all seemed to boil down to one question: what do we use as a source of truth? What do we take for granted that empowers us to make decisions? This is what I call the source-of-truth problem.

I think I am going through something...maybe imposter syndrome?

Longing for autumn
Typically, Labor Day is marked as the last of summer, but it doesn' feel like it. I think we are in triple digits (American) today and it is supposed to get hotter throughout the week. Summer is still fighting strong, but at least it cools off quite a bit in the evenings.

silent reflection, a smoke, and a brew
Another chill night here in the cozy Pub. I'm sitting at the bar, earbuds in, quietly reflecting, watching intently as our other patrons enjoy their drinks and bask in their own personal thoughts. The pool table beckons, but alas, I didn't bring any change with me. Oh well, another day, perhaps. :-)
