Illegitimi Non Carborundum
In 2010 when we spoke to RMS about renaming the site he envisioned it would make sense to be like a sentry; we remain true to that vision/mission
THE Microsoft-funded threats being sent to us this year have emboldened us to publish more, not less. This year we've nearly doubled our output, peaking at over 200 pages/articles per month. Attempts to silence us are merely affirming the importance of the work we do here. In turn, this means that Microsoft-funded threats are counterproductive (bad for Microsoft).
So far this year we've been approached by what seems like a record number of sources and whistleblowers. We maintain 100% source protection record and it won't change any time soon.
If you try to suppress our publication, we'll not just bark back but also bite [1, 2]. We've made this very clear this year.
There's this "common-sense" thing about how attacking something may in fact legitimise it. Or how fraudulent actions against someone may serve to show that someone is "on the right track". Censorship attempts aren't without a hidden cost. That cost can be huge. █
