During the Weekend We Said Fedora DEI Requires Proprietary Software, Now the Chat About It Is No Longer Accessible Over the Open Web
Early Saturday/late Friday we highlighted uncomfortable truths. The chat in Fedora DEI encouraged if not imposed use of Google Apps and Google Talk (IBM imposes Slack on staff; it's also proprietary and peripheral to IBM). The chat was self-explanatory. Now we can no longer access it (several of us checked to verify):
A few days ago this was definitely not required. Did criticism of the way Fedora is run by IBM shut out everybody? Or is this just a coincidence and an habitual change in Element?
Three of us can no longer access the Web client.
For completeness we have added the Fedora DEI log. It's the Fedora DEI Matrix chat log in text format, exported via a "proper" (not Web) client. 12 messages got deleted with a trace, a lot more without. █
