Windows Falls in Italy as GNU/Linux Jumps to 5%
Italy has a long and rich history (other than the Roman Empire) and RMS wrote to us last week, visibly excited that his talk, which was announced at short notice (message spread on Friday, talk delivered Monday!), attracted nearly 500 people.
Italy knows a thing or two about digital autonomy and it looks like many Italians not only develop but also adopt GNU/Linux. It's also true here in the UK and in the EU. GNU/Linux is no longer a niche topic but the mainstream.
Let's ensure people know what GNU/Linux is, when it started, and what it ought to be about (freedom). GNU/Linux happened 9 years after GNU. █
