Gemini Protocol Turns 6 on Friday
While many people rightly complain to us about the lack of news online we're actually finding a lot in gemini://
(a lump of links coming shortly). They sniff around and hunt for a story that's not about the same handful of topics and isn't just some LLM slop about those topics.
Later this week Gemini Protocol turns 6 and we're happy to say that so far this month we've served close to 2 million Gemini requests. The sister site (or capsule) is somewhere around half a million in the same period. Both capsules have around 50,000 pages (each), but Lupa only indexes up to 10,000.
Active (online) Gemini capsules are estimated by Lupa at over 3,000 (Lupa knows of 3,053) and this upcoming anniversary marks a number of new highs. It's safe to predict that Solderpunk [1, 2, 3], who started Gemini Protocol a few months before COVID-19 started,, will write about this in Gopher and Gemini Protocol. He too will probably point to Lupa as evidence of concrete growth. █
