Before CoreAI There Was Builder.ai
Published yesterday: Microsoft said “GitHub and its leadership team will continue its mission as part of Microsoft’s CoreAI organisation.” But it's just an empty shell created earlier this year.
3 months ago:
Earlier this year Microsoft made up this thing called "CoreAI", mostly announced by Microsoft's media operatives (whose purpose is to parrot or shadow Microsoft). There is so little information about what it actually is, except that it's run by someone Microsoft hired from Facebook ("Meta") and lacks many real accomplishments unless one relies on shallow hagiographies (articles planted out there for PR purposes).
Worse yet, there's no indication it makes money and it has the makeup of a giant Ponzi scheme, riding a hype wave not meant to last, only to attract lawsuits and irritate computer users.
The mention of CoreAI coincided with lies (vapourware) told by Microsoft's President - lies that were quickly thereafter disproved by the company's own actions. This leads us to the conclusion that Microsoft folding/tossing GitHub onto the "CoreAI" bucket is a sign that 1) GitHub loses a ton of money; 2) Microsoft does not know how to stop those losses as it already shut down GitHub offices and laid off many GitHub workers, even in India (where salaries were low anyway); 3) Microsoft may be preparing to mothball GitHub like it did Skype a few months ago [1, 2, 3]. Not many people saw that coming, right? We correctly predicted this outcome only months earlier.
GitHub isn't about "AI" (just a bunch of lies and storytelling for shareholders' patience); all the slop that Microsoft tries to integrate into GitHub irritates developers and attracts major lawsuits. █

This is not intelligence, it's slop. A lot of stuff described as "AI" turns out to be a giant scam.
