Slopwatch: linuxsecurity.com, Slopfarms in Google News, and More
Today's "Slopwatch" is not long. Like yesterday, we are generally not finding all that much bad material. Maybe that's a good sign.
Like with most Slopwatches, we take a quick look at linuxsecurity.com, a slopfarm that does SEO spam to position itself in Google with fake content to sell something:
They do "SEO" or googlebomb "Linux Rootkits", then publish a bunch of LLM slop to pretend that it is an article. Very shady company.
Meanwhile, Google News keeps promoting this pair of connected slopfarms operated by the same charlatans to promote and spread utter FUD:
That's a social engineering issue, not a "Linux" issue, as we explained before.
This slopfarm is also in Google News (fake text, fake image, fake author):
And this one too:
Google News is utterly disgraceful. Most people cannot distinguish between real and fake articles, so they end up reading LLM slop, thinking that it is news. See below. Some readers of ours end up sending us links that are from slopfarms, not realising those are slopfarms. █
