Why Microsoft is Panicking
"Panicking" seems like the appropriate word to use here. Why?
Well, yesterday in IRC someone told us that Microsoft now resorts to shameless FUD tactics to try to get people to adopt Vista 11, maybe even people whose PC is "not capable" of it.
Basically, Microsoft does not want anybody to understand that he or she can install a modern GNU/Linux distro (with security patches for no fee) on the existing PC.
What can we do about this? Keep advocating (or "marketing") GNU/Linux to Vista 10 (or Vista 7) users... there are still over a billion of them "out there".
Even if just 10% of them wind up using GNU/Linux, that's over 100 million more GNU/Linux users on desktops/laptops.
"Panicking" isn't an exaggeration. Revisit "Microsoft Acts Like a Company in an Economic Panic, Not a Valuable Corporation", published a fortnight ago. █
