Intercontinental Brigading - Part XXIV - It's an Inherently American Issue and American Elections Are at Risk From Restricted ('Secure') Boot and LLM Chatbots (Disinformation at Scale)

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Oct 30, 2026

When Americans who work for slop companies and promote back doors seek hired guns across the Atlantic (not physically, they never show up for hearings) to muzzle a critics of slop and back doors maybe we're dealing with institutional DARVO.

Yesterday there was this article about "AI-driven influence campaigns" (not the back doors in the machines themselves):

How Secure Are US Elections? Voting Machine Risks and the Growing Threat of AI

We'll focus a lot on US elections in the coming days.

Over the coming weekend we'll focus some more, with a "deep dive" of sorts, on technical aspects sans jargon and arcane words/smug acronyms. Our target audience would be people with moderate knowledge of computing, not security gurus.

To be clear, the people who promote "Restricted Boot" are not security experts; they're personified by Microsoft (follow the money, it is way too easy) and their aim is to put Microsoft in control of computers, i.e. the exact opposite of security for computer users. It's about "financial security" (of Microsoft), by means of monopoly.

To reiterate what we said this morning, as it seems to irritate Garrett and his collaborators (from Microsoft), the trial which began exactly a year ago would cost about a million pounds for both sides combined. We cannot afford this and neither can Garrett, so there's debt and subsidies from third parties, according to Garrett himself.

We said that Garrett always sought distractions and yesterday he commented on anything but "Restricted Boot" catastrophe. He spoke about trial costs. Based on his own public statements and his spouse's public statements, he had already run out of money way before any judgement and it would be foolish to ignore such data points. He was borrowing already a year before an expensive trial, so it was clear that he - just like or along with his litigation partner from Microsoft - would pay nothing upon losing their cases. They were moreover based in another continent - very far away from London - so compelling them to pay anything would be a logistical nightmare, according to legal experts in the UK. They knew this. Politicians now understand this too and we need an elaborate reform to curtail such cross-Atlantic lawsuits - not only Russia is the culprit here. Such lawsuits are a net negative to the interests of our country.

The problem is in fact global/international in scope. Microsoft even deplatforms judges now.

Over in the US, matters are already getting rather out-of-hand with attacks on the domestic press and foreign press coming from the administration directly, election results being rejected (to the point of violent riots against them), a dictator who signals he has no intention of leaving after a second term, and premature attacks on states where the polls aren't favourable to the dictator. The foreign press (UK, not US) is besieged for covering the insurrection. Writing about crime is a crime now?

What we'll show in the weekend is some recent history of Garrett's sabotage being a gift or turnkey tyranny for the dictator in power. He can take over voting machines remotely, or conversely he can reject results he doesn't like by correctly asserting security issues exist.

The FSF commented on this subject just days ago.

On top of that, we have slop as a propaganda tool. Garrett and his collaborator (from Microsoft) craft tools for plagiarism, but they call it "AI" or "copilot". We're meant to overlook or look away from the harm they did and still do to society. Those who criticise them bear the brunt (see timeline, it began in 2021 just a few days before Garrett's litigation buddy from Microsoft got arrested) and I receive death threats because I insist on computer security, Computer Science, safety for women (from violent men), and oppose online abuse against my wife, who did nothing at all to deserve or invite this. █
