Software Freedom is Science, But It Also Sustains Life

Yesterday: Free Software is for Everyone

Software Freedom is rooted in science, but Software Freedom is not just for scientists, it benefits everybody.

Software Freedom is dependent on developers (programmers). They're typically scientists with some background in software engineering, Computer Science etc.

Similarly, not everybody knows how to cook and few people know how to farm (harvest and grow crops). The latter, agriculture, isn't easy and it is a tradition passed and taught between or across generations. It's not only hard work; it's risky and requires lots of experience.

And yet, all humans eat. They rely on people who prepare food or produce the ingredients of food.

In some sense, Software Freedom can be explained in the context of nourishing people, at least as a parallel case, an analogy/parable/metaphor.

Online communities that code pro bono "feed" an otherwise-oppressed population that is force-fed 'free' edible things with back doors, surveillance, and other malicious attributes.

"Funny commentary," sent to us by a reader this week, was commentary about this Techrights piece. From a reader of ours: "Bill Gates is yet another Microsoft product full of viruses" (context)

Epstein’s alleged emails claim Bill Gates contracted an STD and sought antibiotics for Melinda

Bill Gates caught STD from Russian girls, Epstein claimed; entrusted by Epstein for his will; The right-hand man of Bill, understatement to say they're close
