Microsoft Layoffs Include Windows, Bing, Slop (CoPilot etc.) and There Will More More Rounds (or Waves) to Come

At the beginning of this month we saw GNU/Linux measured at 5.52% globally and it has since then increased further. In analytics.usa.gov it is measured at 5.7% or over 8% if one omits mobile. Windows is the "biggest loser".
We spoke about this in anticipation of July. Microsoft is struggling and it cannot hide it.
We said this would become more relevant amid a much-belated announcement of mass layoffs at Microsoft - an announcement which underscores deep problems and a declaration which we understand also impacts Windows developers.
A Microsoft insider responded to this announcement by clarifying it is just the first wave (akin to last summer):

Regarding the scope of the layoffs, another Microsoft insider said: "There are some in core ai, shopping and bing."
Another Microsoft insider: "People are getting emails to wfh? Like "don't make us embarrass your ass in the office, make sure you are home when you cry" kind of situation?"
And another insider: "There were a few of us in the know and we knew Xbox and studios were going to be hit hard. Please have empathy for colleagues that got the news today. Even though most orgs weren’t involved this time, there are always more layoffs in the future to look forward to."
Verified insider on XBox:

We can already see the "official" numbers cannot possibly add up. █
