Monopolies Are Neither Green Nor Sustainable

Summary: António Campinos (Monopoly Tony) has no legitimate, factual, and authentic arguments to make; like politicians who start wars and lie to their people, Monopoly Tony is nowadays resorting to buzzwords and greenwashing; he and his friends in the "IP5" cabal congratulate themselves as if they're benevolent, moral actors while they basically change everything in favour of corporate lobbyists such as BusinessEurope and IPO

THE rather typical and oftentimes laughable posturing from the EPO has appeared (warning: epo.org link) in the official Web site, painting the Great Imposter, António Campinos, as some sort of patent expert. Like Benoît Battistelli, he hardly has any experience in the field; he's there not for his qualifications and experience but for his loyalty to monopolies (Monopoly Tony is a true vassal to his True Masters, some of which/whom are named in the puff piece).

"80% of the EPO's patent applications are from large corporations, not "innovators". Those are business people!"The video above goes through the nonsense, which has become increasingly dull and repetitive. This one uses a sort of greenwash(ing) slant, e.g. "introduce sustainability in the IP5 agendas and enhance the patent system to better support innovators globally."

We know what agenda and whose agenda that is. 80% of the EPO's patent applications are from large corporations, not "innovators". Those are business people! Think Edison verus Tesla as a classic analogy.

The puff piece mentions "emerging technologies and artificial intelligence" (typically a Trojan horse for European software patents) and resorts to greenwashing of monopolies, greenwashing of front groups of monopolies (not the same thing), and other sorts of fluff.

They do not help an environmental agenda and they're far from sustainability-driven. They are the largest culprits in exhausting the planet's resources. They are also habitually hijacking civil rights causes, such as feminism, to put new clothing on corporate domination and portray the sceptics as obstruction to social progress. Don't fall for it. Those are well documented PR tactics and defence strategies (defending oneself from perfectly legitimate criticism).
