The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

SUGGESTION: Let's choose a logo now!

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi folks!

As the next release (1.3) is coming in two weeks I suggest that we start
to choose a logo for Debian GNU/Linux in the next days.

According to the latest results of the Debian user query at

	http://fatman.mathematik.tu-muenchen.de/~schwarz/debian-logo/

we have four (4) possible logos now, that received more positive votes
than negative votes. These are (in alphabetical order):

  eb07	by Edward Blevins <thedward@mail.utexas.edu>
  fa01	by Fredrik Ax <fax@df.lth.se>
  fn02 by Frank Neumann <Frank.Neumann@Informatik.Uni-Oldenburg.DE>
  jhe06 by Jamie Heilman <jamie@cc.wwu.edu>

There are a few questions left:

1. Do we want to choose the logo now (latest chance to get a logo for
Debian GNU/Linux 1.3) or do we want to continue searching for other logos
and choose a logo for Debian 2.0?

-> I suggest we choose the logo _now_.

-> Note that there are a few days left to improve the logo that we will
choose, for example to create a logo with higher resolution or less
colors for b/w printing, etc.

2. Who will choose the logo? There are several options:
 - The Project Leader chooses the logo.
 - The BOD chooses the logo.
 - The Debian Developers choose the logo.
 - The Debian Developers+Users choose the logo.

-> I suggest that the Debian Developers choose the logo.

3. How many votes does each person have?
 - Each person chooses _one_ logo which he likes most.
 - Each person says "yes" or "no" for _each_ logo.
   Variants:
     - we take the logo with the best yes/(yes+no) ratio (that's how I
calculate the "score" on my pages now)
     - we take the logo with most "yes" votes.

Anyways, I have all Perl scripts ready so if we decide to choose the logo
now, I can set up the necessary scripts within a day. I suggest to use a
web page similar to the logo page we have now to collect the votes. (Email
votes do not make much sense since people should _see_ the logos the vote
for :-) All submittions would be sent via email to me and I have a perl
script here to summarize the submittions.

I suggest that every Debian developer _has_ to fill in his name and email
address at the top of the HTML form so I can check for duplicate entries.
I'd need a list of email addresses of _all_ Debian developers. Does
someone have this? (Perhaps a list of subscriptors of debian-private?)

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris
