It Is Not 'Misbehaving', That's Just Microsoft Breaking the Law Again

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Jan 30, 2024

They steal your per-site passwords (so they can access your medical data, E-mail, videochats* and so on), not just your surfing history and everything else (even from other browsers in Windows)

Longtime Microsoft booster: Microsoft stole my Chrome tabs, and it wants yours, too / Microsoft Edge has a data import feature that’s misbehaving.

MICROSOFT is behaving like an intrusive spy agency, not a real company, and a lot of its revenue is government handouts, i.e. taxpayers' money.

Why do so many people think it's "OK" to tolerate this? The spying and the de facto bailouts make Microsoft like a modern-day for-profit Stasi.

Microsoft Edge is not just stealing users' passwords without any consent. As even a faithful Microsoft spinner admits right now: "Microsoft says the data import is completed locally and stored locally but that it will be sent to Microsoft if you sign in and sync your browsing data. Microsoft displays a big blue accept button to encourage Windows users to enable the feature, with a darker “not now” button if you want to opt out. [...] I’m not entirely sure how Microsoft Edge automatically opened and imported my Chrome browser data without this setting enabled. [...] I’ve asked Microsoft for comment on what I witnessed, but the company has not responded in time for publication. I’m not alone in experiencing this, either. Multiple Windows users have been reporting this for months, turning to Reddit and Microsoft’s own support forums for help. Posters have confirmed the same feature is disabled, but the data imports keep happening."

Being the notorious Mr. Warren, of course he closes his article by spouting out some Microsoft recommendations. That's his implicit duty, just like Peter Bright, a paid stenographer of Microsoft who turned out to be a serial child rapist. He used to abuse us in our IRC channels. We've always had some Microsoft-connected moles there, demanding censorship and trying to demonise us by spouting out nazi stuff in our channels.

* Microsoft is the foremost partner of the NSA and the pioneer of PRISM. Microsoft quickly enrolled Skype into it after it had taken over.

This article is more than 9 years old; Optic Nerve: millions of Yahoo webcam images intercepted by GCHQ; 1.8m users targeted by UK agency in six-month period alone; Optic Nerve program collected Yahoo webcam images in bulk; Yahoo: 'A whole new level of violation of our users' privacy'; Material included large quantity of sexually explicit images
