Former Red Hat Chief (CEO), Who Decided to Leave the Company Earlier This Month, Talks About "Cloud Company Red Hat" to CNBC
Note: He is leaving the company next week (on Monday).
THIS not-so-old video with (at the time) Red Hat's CEO is interesting because it shows a lack of foresight and dependence on buzzwords.
They speak about how Red Hat is essentially outsourcing for clients, e.g. to Amazon or to Microsoft. Companies cannot survive in the long run as mere resellers, can they? The "clown computing" bubble has burst since; they then started building up "advanced hey hi" (AI) hype, distracting from the reduction in clients/demand.
Does it make sense? Did this video age well? There have been layoffs since then (big wave of layoffs 11 months ago; many teams did not survive at all). █
