Why They Want to Abolish Master/Slave Terminology (Because This is What They're Turned Free Software Into)
It used to be about community; GAFAM turned that into exploitation and worse (much worse, having put themselves in charge using bribes, blackmail and ritual defamation)
WRITING about the Hinduja family (see "UK's richest family convicted of exploiting servants"), Daniel Pocock revisited human trafficking and slavery in Free software. He said that Google had turned Free software into slavery. To quote: "In both Debian and GSoC, we see similar shenanigans. Stephanie Taylor at Google insists on referring to the GSoC interns as "students" and never using terms like "intern" or "employee". Looking at the content of the public rules for GSoC, it looks a lot like the master/slave relationship of employer/employee. In the past thirty years, there have been numerous judgments throughout Europe where courts chose to ignore these shenanigans and word games."
He then explained how he and Dr Preining had become slaves. Quoting Pocock: "From the email disclosed by Dr Norbert Preining when they sought to enslave him in December 2018: "Therefore, we are revoking your status as a Debian Developer with immediate effect. You remain a Debian Maintainer for a minimum of 6 months, after which you can apply for getting your Debian Developer status back.""
So Google (or GAFAM) found a way to even turn people with Ph.D.-level degrees into slaves. Quoting Pocock again: "Here is the entry in the Debian keyring repository, the PGP keys are a digital equivalent of a passport. The commit removes Dr Preining's key from the Debian Developer keyring and adds his key to the Debian Maintainer keyring, which has become a keyring for slaves now."

Don't be easily fooled into thinking that Pocock is the bad one here. He merely responds to abuses against him, including serious libel. He explains that they spread the libel from abroad (e.g. South Africa) to dodge accountability. Pocock knows that Debian is no ordinary employer; it's run through shells and some take money from Microsoft. Microsoft infiltrated Debian.
Pocock is subjected to truly nasty personal attacks from Google (or GAFAM) because of what he knows and what he shows. He spent years as a tutor in Google's GSoC. They try to discredit him or bankrupt him so that people look away or his sites go offline. Remember that Stephanie Taylor (named above) was spreading ruinous and false rumours about him having a relationship with a student. He made an entire Web site to debunk this libel, outreachy.dating. It's not like Google (or GAFAM) lacks a history of sex trafficking and even handsome rewards given to the trafficker. Considering the bizarre marital/sex life of Eric Schmidt, this is the norm, not the exception. These are truly sick people, who are eager to project their own behaviour onto others. They do not respect free speech and their "free" services are nothing short of spyware. █
