Terms of Service (TOS) Under Scrutiny - Part XI (Interlude) - “We will end up in a global totalitarian surveillance society.”
WebM: A clip from The Julian Assange Show (2012)
HAVING just covered some advanced surveillance inside shops, we'll soon turn our attention to what TOS culture does to privacy online.
"As discussed previously," a reader told us, "the privacy policy is separate from the terms of service, but is usually agreed to upon signing the terms of service. Privacy policy is where you are what portion of your data is collected and owned by the Company or entity you are signing the terms of service with."
"This Privacy policy has the details about using it for AI and sharing with third parties, etc."
"This series could probably run as long as I live!"
"One of the audience members asked the question at the end of the session about why these companies aren’t locking down things better and told us that he had seriously 20 years of free credit reporting if he combined all of the breaches he’s been a part of."
"This part of the series focuses on surveillance and Collecting as well as sharing private personal information."
We're soon entering phase 2 of the series. See the short clip above, as it's 12 years old and has still aged rather well. █
