Changing One's Name Won't Change One's Past
Some people act very poorly, sometimes illegally. They then find the audacity to pretend that the real issue is the publicity. They wrongly if not stridently assume they can press "reset" and reinvent themselves, starting with a blank slate. To be clear, we are not talking about genders here!
Not many people subscribe to the religious concept of karma. If they did, they'd not act so poorly. It makes life or "future lives" harder. It can also make finding a partner, job, friends etc. a lot harder.
As we showed last week, the legal team of the Serial Strangler from Microsoft and Garrett [1, 2] is anti-metoo. The reason we keep referring to him as the "Serial Strangler from Microsoft" (other than to remind people what he did) is that he arrogantly goes by several names. There are numerous ones. See, if one points out what he did, then he might swap over to another name, hoping that his bad reputation won't follow him.
People who have earned a bad reputation are not magically "entitled" to reset. It is a form of reputation laundering [1, 2, 3]. █
