Lots of Lies From the Slop Industry

They like to conflate human thinking (with physical capabilities)... with neural networks or even conflate robotics with "AI" (completely different concepts; they do the same with computation or 'automation') in order to sell vapourware or false promises of alleged "efficiency" (where there's none; it's only an utter waste of power and of money)
The downside of debunking something false is that it can inadvertently give visibility to something that is: 1) false and 2) likely to go unnoticed. In the latter case, your reader never saw/read/knew about in the first place. It can give exposure ("free publicity") to lies and create intrigue around those lies.
In recent days we responded - albeit only in passing - to claims of "investment" in so-called 'AI'; that typically means to 'free' hosting that is disguised or mis-portrayed as "sales", i.e. it is circular financing - a notorious form of financial fraud or 'creative' accounting which amounts to a white-collar crime. Another story that we don't want to name by brands (definitely not links) is something about slop and the US military. No slop company is ethical and the notion of ethical slop or slop "only for moral purposes" is an anathema. The corporate media is basically playing along with a phony, balnoney narrative. Don't pay attention to it.
In other news, no Slopwatch and not even new examples of LLM slop about "Linux" today because we found only one (in linuxsecurity.com) and nothing at all in Google News.
Slopfarms are gasping for air.
The slop industry relies on fake news to give a notion or fake demand.
Some publishers, such as The Register MS, are happy to take bribes to publish fake news about "AI". They lie for Microsoft to cause people anxiety. They promote a lunacy/fantasy about world takeover by "AI"; by repeating the same lie many times they hope people will accept that (self-fulfilling prophecy). █
