Why was the address not updated until yesterday?

For those who didn't pay attention to the Sirius Open Source series, in October 2022 I spotted the company changing its address to a bogus one (the accountant's). I immediately (1-2 days after the change) chased the CEO, who was already evasive, for an urgent telephone call. After he repeatedly tried to deflect I got him on the phone and the conversation went on for nearly an hour. I confronted him about it and quit the company (as did my wife) several weeks later.
