Speaking out from the soul

Since moving the Techrights site to an SSG in 2023 we've published 16,730 new pages. The "old site" (WordPress) had about 44,000 posts in it, so we're looking at a total of about 60,000 posts/articles since 2006. Due to the volume of these (for comparison, in 21 years OSNews had approximately 20,000 posts), we never rely on any particular new story for "traffic" and there are no big "surges". We're just always serving information, both new and old.

In the chart below, the dark grey represents "old" (WordPress) visits, the grey in "the middle" represents the "new" (since 2023), and the light grey (usually top) shows the total.

Techrights stats

Sites fail if they don't offer anything new or if they wrongly believe that adopting slop to parrot other sites will give them exposure. It's not about clickbait or volume (quantity of words) or social control media "games"; it's about a good track record of properly-done analysis, saying not what's easy and convenient (low risk) but what ought to be said and nobody wants to talk about.
